At W.M. Dewey, safety is at the core of everything we do. Our team is committed to providing a safe environment for our employees, cargo, and customers.
W.M. Dewey owns its own fleet, hires and trains the best drivers, and has one of the best safety records in the industry, with the highest US DOT safety rating and numerous safety awards, including the 2013 Grand Trophy for Fleet Safety from the Texas Trucking Association (TXTA).
W.M. Dewey’s fleet of trucks and flatbed trailers are entirely company-owned, enabling us to oversee ongoing and preventative maintenance, and to ensure that all equipment is both compliant with industry regulations and meets our rigorous standards. Additionally, our fleet is maintained on-site, which helps to prevent on-the-road service failures due to breakdowns.
W.M. Dewey’s company-owned fleet undergoes preventative maintenance, as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) maintenance inspections. W.M. Dewey has the highest safety rating as measured by the DOT Safety Management System (SMS), a rank which is determined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) through an evaluation of violations which fall within seven categories:
